The Cloud Native Computing Foundation, or CNCF, has announced the addition of nine new Silver Members, including SoftBank Corp. and Crusoe, as enterprises shift AI workloads from training to inference. The new members span telecommunications, AI infrastructure, cloud hosting, and other sectors, joining nearly 800 members and over 300,000 contributors in the cloud native ecosystem. CNCF executive director Jonathan Bryce said the focus is on getting more from existing infrastructure rather than adding more compute, with open source communities building orchestration and observability layers. The foundation also welcomed Legora as its newest Silver End User Member, a legal AI platform that runs on Kubernetes and other CNCF projects. Silver Members receive benefits valued at over $300,000 USD, including training subscriptions and event discounts.
