Summary · why it matters

Crédit Agricole has acquired a stake in Miraval Provence, the rosé wine business linked to Brad Pitt, through its private-equity arms IDIA Capital Investissement and SOFIPACA. The French bank said the investment supports "a new phase of growth" at the business and will help "accelerate the commercial development" of Miraval Provence at home and abroad. Financial terms were not disclosed. Miraval Provence has been co-owned by France-based wine group Familles Perrin and Château Miraval, a holding company that had belonged to Pitt and ex-wife Angelina Jolie, who sold her stake to Tenute Del Mondo, the wine division of drinks giant Stoli Group, in 2021; Pitt sued Jolie claiming the sale was unlawful, and that legal dispute continues. Miraval Provence generates the majority of its sales through exports via the Perrin family's distribution network and a tie-up with Campari, and markets wine under two brands, Miraval Côtes de Provence and Studio by Miraval.
