Summary · why it matters

William Fok, Senior Director of HSBC's Private Banking division for Thailand, said that businesses in Thailand have already begun transforming their operations to grapple with AI, focusing on boosting efficiency and creating new growth opportunities. Turning that commitment into long-term value requires disciplined investment, careful management of costs and data security risks, and support for employees as their roles change. HSBC's Global Entrepreneurial Wealth Report 2026 found that mergers and acquisitions remain brisk, with more than 4 in 5 entrepreneurs, or 83%, considering mergers and acquisitions, or M&A. About half, or 52%, are interested in acquiring businesses in their own market in the coming year, while 43% are interested in expanding into new markets. The report also found that high-net-worth female entrepreneurs aged 18 to 34 are among the most optimistic groups, with about 3 in 4, or 74%, of them believing their assets and wealth will increase substantially, compared with the global average of 44%. Meanwhile, 72% of entrepreneurs lived in more than one country during the year, and 70% plan to relocate or take up additional residence abroad in the coming year. As for their biggest concerns, about 1 in 3, or 32%, worry about balancing the use of wealth for life's enjoyment against growing their wealth. The financial issues they worry about most are market volatility at 31%, inflation at 30%, and irreversible poor investment decisions at 29%.
