Bank of Ayudhya PCLKrungsri Auto partners with OMNIDRIVE to build Thailand's first used EV inspection standard, expanding its used EV lending ecosystem and credit assessment capability.

Krungsri Auto, under Bank of Ayudhya, has announced a strategic partnership with OMNIDRIVE (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a specialist in electric vehicle inspection and data analysis, signing a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop a standard for inspecting used electric vehicles. It is the first auto lending provider in Thailand to co-develop such a standard. Ms. Chayanthip Phanmanee, Head of Auto Lending Business at Bank of Ayudhya, said the partnership is part of Krungsri Auto's business plan under its Resilient Growth strategy, aimed at building on its position as the first to create the most complete used EV ecosystem in Thailand. The inspection standard will cover batteries, electrical systems, and vehicle structure, in order to produce data sets that enable more accurate valuation and credit limit assessment. Ms. Hatairat T. Wattanapol, Chief Executive Officer of OMNIDRIVE (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said the company will take on the role of Technical & Data Partner, bringing its expertise in electric vehicles and batteries, its neutrality and standards in vehicle condition assessment, and its specialist personnel to build internationally standardised data sets. OMNIDRIVE is led by Assistant Professor Dr. Chana Yiengkamolsin, Chief Operating Officer, who has more than 30 years of experience in automotive and electric vehicle engineering and serves as academic advisor to the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT). Its inspection team has been certified in advanced used-car appraiser skills by the China Automobile Dealers Association (CADA), and its inspections cover more than 200 items, with results summarised in a standard 1-to-5-star report.
