SC Asset Corporation Public Company Limited, or SC, has announced a partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, or TAT, and Chao Phraya Express Boat Company Limited under the concept Bangpho – Bangkok's Creative Riverside District, aiming to elevate the Bang Pho area along the Chao Phraya River into a new Riverside Creative & Tourism Destination for Bangkok. The initiative is driven by the concepts of Design, Art, Craft, Taste & Culture, building on Bang Pho's identity in woodwork, craftsmanship, community ways of life, and cultural diversity, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. One of the key activities is the Made in Bangpho – Design Contest under the concept From Local Craftsmanship to a New Reference in Design, open to students, undergraduates, and design enthusiasts to submit sculptures or furniture inspired by Bang Pho's craftsmanship. Selected works will be developed into actual pieces and installed within the Reference BAIE River Bangpho project, with a total prize pool of over 250,000 baht. Submissions are open until November 30, 2026, and shortlisted results will be announced on December 7, 2026. Meanwhile, the Wonder Bangpho – A Creative Journey through Craft, Taste and Culture activity invites people to experience the Bang Pho area through four dimensions: Wonder Through Craft, Wonder in Creation, Wonder of Taste, and Wonder by the River. Ms. Panthara Nakchattri, Director of the Marketing Communications Administration Group at TAT, said that Bang Pho is an area rich in stories, ways of life, community wisdom, and a bond with the Chao Phraya River, making it an opportunity to create a new form of tourism experience and long-term economic opportunities for the community. Ms. Nattapree Pichaironnarongsongkram, Executive Director of Chao Phraya Express Boat Company Limited, said that this collaboration will help increase access to the Bang Pho area and extend riverside tourism routes. Meanwhile, Ms. Kanokorn Limkamnerd, Managing Director of the High-Rise Property Development Business Group and International Customers at SC, said that this development takes the area's existing assets and builds on them to create new value for the neighborhood in the long term, with the Reference BAIE River Bangpho project developed under the concept Bangpho, Reimagined.
