The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, or DE, held discussions with Roblox Corporation on 13 August 2026 to enhance safety measures and protection for children and young people on the Roblox gaming platform. Mr. Chaichanok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, revealed that the two sides discussed age-based user supervision measures, Facial Age Estimation technology, chat moderation systems, and plans to adopt the IARC Rating standard in 2027. They also proposed studying the feasibility of linking the Thai National Digital ID and KYC system to Roblox user accounts to improve the accuracy of identity and age verification. Roblox presented the Family Zone concept, a community within the platform designed to help parents better understand the game system and safety measures, as well as to strengthen AI and coding skills. In the first phase, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society and Roblox will set up a joint working group to study user identity verification systems in Thailand and produce concrete results. In the next phase, they will study the use of pre-scan tools, analysis of game and user history logs, and the use of AI to assess risk factors, shifting from post-incident problem solving to proactive prevention.
