Vietnam's General Statistics Office reported that retail sales of goods and consumer services in Vietnam from January to August 2026 totaled over 5,230 trillion dong (about $204 billion), up 13.3% year-on-year. Retail sales of goods reached nearly 3,950 trillion dong, up 12.8%, while revenue from accommodation and catering services reached 670.3 trillion dong, up 16.4%, and travel services revenue was about 68.7 trillion dong, up 17.1%. Meanwhile, Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Environment reported that agricultural exports in the first eight months of 2026 totaled $25.6 billion, with vegetables, fruits, coffee, and cashew nuts being the top three export items. Vegetable and fruit exports reached $6.02 billion, up 24.9%. Coffee exports were valued at $6 billion from 1.3 million tons, with volume up 13.1% but value down 9.1%. Cashew nut exports reached $3.35 billion from 474,000 tons.
