Jareeporn Jarukornsakul, Chairwoman of the Executive Committee and Chief Executive Officer of WHA Corporation Public Company Limited, or WHA, said that Thailand's hosting of the IMF–World Bank 2026 meetings is a golden opportunity to showcase the country's readiness and potential on the world stage and to build on foreign direct investment, or FDI, in order to attract future industries that align with changes in the global economy. The meetings will be held under the theme Thailand's New Horizons: Empowering People, Building Resilience, and are expected to draw more than 15,000 participants, including senior leaders, central bank governors, executives of the IMF and the World Bank, investors, financial institutions, the private sector, and media from around the world. WHA Group said its logistics business spans built-to-suit warehouses, general warehouses, ready-built factories, logistics parks, distribution centers, and office buildings, with more than 3.2 million square meters of space in Thailand and Vietnam. Its industrial estate business operates more than 17 smart eco-industrial estates covering over 88,900 rai in Thailand and Vietnam. The utilities and power business is targeting total water sales and water management in Thailand and Vietnam of 170 million cubic meters in 2026, and has total equity-backed power generation capacity of 1,124 megawatts, while preparing to capture opportunities from the Direct PPA mechanism and the new Power Development Plan, or PDP. The mobility business aims to expand its electric vehicle fleet under management to 637 vehicles by 2026, and the group is pursuing a net zero greenhouse gas emission target by 2050. Jareeporn concluded that WHA Group sees an opportunity to help drive the country toward becoming a regional financial hub alongside an artificial intelligence and data center hub, based on Thailand's position as a safe zone for investment that is ready to grow sustainably in every dimension.
