BAE Systems wins $230.1 million contract for ACV-R amphibious recovery variant

BAE Systems has received a $230.1 million contract to produce 32 Amphibious Combat Vehicle chassis in the Recovery Mission Role variant, known as ACV-R, the newest addition to the ACV family of vehicles. The ACV-R is designed to give the ACV fleet a recovery capability so the U.S. Marine Corps can rapidly recover and maintain its vehicles and keep them mission-ready. Rebecca McGrane, vice president of amphibious vehicles at BAE Systems, said the award highlights the company's shared commitment with the Marine Corps to equip Marines with the capabilities they need. The new variant joins the existing ACV portfolio, whose modular design also supports the ACV-30's firepower, the ACV-P's troop transport capacity and the ACV-C's command and control capabilities. Work on the ACV-R program will primarily take place in York, Pennsylvania through 2029 and includes the Government's design and final integration of the Palfinger Crane at Anniston Army Depot prior to fielding the variant to the Fleet Marine Force.
