Liancheng CNC sues Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical in the US for patent infringement involving crystal growth equipment

Two major domestic photovoltaic equipment suppliers are fighting a patent battle overseas. Liancheng CNC announced that its subsidiary Liancheng Crystal Technology has sued Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical in the United States, claiming that some crystal growth equipment-related business sold by Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical in the US falls within the protection scope of Liancheng Crystal's patented technology, infringing its legal rights, and is demanding that the infringement stop and corresponding compensation be paid. Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical responded in an announcement that the technical methods used in its products are completely different from those in the patents involved, that there is no evidence its products infringe the patents, and that it will actively defend itself. The patents involved are titled "Seed lifting and rotating system for use in crystal growth," with patent numbers US11,255,024 B2 and US11,814,746 B2, and Liancheng Crystal is the legal patent holder. Liancheng CNC and Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical are equipment suppliers to LONGi Green Energy and TCL Zhonghuan respectively. Both companies place great emphasis on technological innovation and patent portfolios. As of June 30, 2026, Liancheng CNC and its holding subsidiaries had accumulated 1,025 patents, while Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical and its subsidiaries had accumulated 1,266 valid patents. There are reports that the case involves Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical's US customer Tesla, but neither company has given a clear response to reporters.

Liancheng CNC Sues Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical in the US for Patent Infringement, Involving Tesla's Texas 10 GW Order Delivery Timeline

Liancheng Crystal Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary of Liancheng CNC, has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical in the Marshall Division of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging that certain Czochralski single-crystal growth equipment sold in the United States infringes two US patents, US 11,255,024 B2 and US 11,814,746 B2, both titled "Seed Lifting and Rotation System for Crystal Growth." Liancheng Crystal Technology has put forward seven claims, including a finding of infringement, damages of no less than a reasonable patent royalty, enhanced damages if willful infringement is found, and a permanent injunction barring Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical from continuing to sell or import the single-crystal furnaces at issue in the United States. Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical responded the same day, saying it has not yet received formal court documents, that the technical methods used in its products are entirely different from those in the patents at issue, and that it will actively defend itself if it receives formal documents. The court hearing the case is known for its fast-paced trials and friendliness to patent holders. According to Lex Machina's 2025 Patent Litigation Report, the Eastern District of Texas ranked first among all US patent litigation venues for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024. In the four trading days after news of the lawsuit emerged, Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical's share price fell from 42.3 yuan to 38.27 yuan, a cumulative decline of about 9.5 percent, wiping out roughly 5.8 billion yuan in market value.

First quantifiable tool against solar industry involution lands as CPIA cost accounting model officially takes effect

The China Photovoltaic Industry Association cost accounting model officially took effect on July 27. The State Administration for Market Regulation held its first compliance guidance meeting on July 31, marking the arrival of the first quantifiable tool against industry involution and clarifying the path for raising bidding floor prices. Guojin Securities noted that these guidelines represent a key step for solar industry governance to move from self-regulatory initiatives toward standardization and institutionalization, which is expected to shift companies from price wars to quality competition and promote high-quality development in the solar sector. In addition, the policy window for distributed consumption solutions such as station-area energy storage and green power direct connection has arrived. On August 3, the mainstream price of 2.0 mm coated glass in the East China market rose 1.17% from the previous trading day. As of 9:30 a.m. on August 3, the CSI Photovoltaic Industry Index gained 0.52%, and the Penghua Solar ETF rose 0.56% to 0.54 yuan, with intraday turnover reaching 1.0588 million yuan.
