CME Group said its international average daily volume reached 9 million contracts in the third quarter of 2026, up 22% from a year earlier. That international figure, which covers all trading reported outside the United States, was driven by energy volume up 40%, agricultural products up 28%, and equity index products up 24%. International trading volume grew at least 20% across every major region, including Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America. Globally, CME Group reported an average daily volume of 29.4 million contracts for the quarter, up 16% over the same period in 2025, with the quarter's volumes exceeding the prior third-quarter record set in 2024. The global increase was largely driven by equity index products, up 23%, and foreign exchange products, up 19%.
