EXIM BANK signs MOU with DTI to extend loans, guarantees, and insurance to defense-industry operators expanding into overseas markets.
The Export-Import Bank of Thailand, or EXIM BANK, and the Defence Technology Institute, or DTI, have signed a memorandum of understanding, or MOU, on cooperation to promote and support access to financial services for the defense industry. The signing ceremony was held on October 9, 2026, at the Defence Technology Institute. General Dr. Charat Uamsamrit, Director of the Defence Technology Institute, and Mr. Chalatch Rattanaboonnithi, Managing Director of EXIM BANK, were the signatories, with General Naphon Sangsonwong, Chairman of the Defence Technology Institute, and Mr. Bandit Saphiyanchai, Chairman of the Executive Board of EXIM BANK, witnessing the event. This cooperation combines EXIM BANK's expertise in finance, international trade, investment, and risk management with DTI's expertise in technology and its network of defense industry operators, enabling capable operators to access loans, guarantees, export and investment insurance, as well as risk management tools. Under this MOU, EXIM BANK will support operators and projects with potential to develop production capacity, investment, and the extension of technology and innovation into commercial use, including expanding opportunities into overseas markets. DTI, meanwhile, will connect capable operators or projects to EXIM BANK's financial support mechanisms. This marks an important step in linking technology, capital, production, and markets to bring technology and products from research and development into commercial production going forward.
