Summary · why it matters

He Haifeng has officially assumed the position of global chief economist at China Securities, taking overall charge of global macro and strategic research. China Securities said He Haifeng will coordinate research on monetary policy across major economies and on industrial relocation logic amid the reshaping of global supply chains, providing research support for the firm's international business including cross-border derivatives and offshore bond underwriting. Public records show He Haifeng previously served as chief economist at Guotai Junan Securities and is currently executive head of the China Financial Policy Report project at Tsinghua University's PBC School of Finance. He Haifeng proposed building a two-layer analytical framework of global narrative plus China narrative, and judged that the global economic pattern of the East rising and the West declining is already irreversible, with southward development represented by Global South economies becoming the core direction. In addition, since 2025 domestic brokerages have entered a period of intensive turnover among chief economists. In January this year Li Kang of Xiangcai Securities and in February Shen Minggao of GF Securities both stepped down after reaching the statutory retirement age.
