Ivanhoe Electric has promoted Alex Neufeld to Senior Vice President of Exploration, effective August 1, 2026. Neufeld, who joined the company in 2023 after a career at Anglo American, will take over from Graham Boyd, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities. Executive Chairman Robert Friedland praised Neufeld's leadership on U.S. projects and expansion of domestic exploration, while also thanking Boyd for his over twenty years of contributions, including assembling key assets like Santa Cruz, Tintic, and Hog Heaven. President and CEO Taylor Melvin noted that Neufeld and Boyd are working together to ensure a smooth transition. Ivanhoe Electric's U.S. exploration team is currently drilling at the Gleeson copper-gold project in Arizona and testing for porphyry and high sulfidation epithermal mineralization at the Hog Heaven project in Montana, while also advancing early-stage activities through its alliance with BHP.
