Optimum Communications shares jumped 5.9% in the afternoon session after the company signed an expanded, multi-year distribution agreement with A+E Global Media. The renewed and expanded deal keeps Optimum TV subscribers across the company's 21-state footprint able to access A+E's full linear channel lineup, including A&E, The History Channel, Lifetime, Lifetime Movie Network, FYI, VICE, Military History Channel, Crime + Investigation, Lifetime Real Women, and The History Channel en Español. Multi-year carriage deals help cable operators protect their programming slate and reduce the risk of channel blackouts that can push subscribers to cancel or switch providers. The stock is down 37.5% since the beginning of the year and, at $1.08 per share, trades 60% below its 52-week high of $2.69 from October 2025. The move follows a 4.9% gain 27 days ago, when the company announced the completion of a $6 million investment to strengthen its network infrastructure in Lubbock, Texas, including an approximately 100-mile fiber ring.
