Pyxis Oncology announced on Tuesday the appointment of Thomas Civik as CEO and chairman, effective September 4, 2026. John Flavin, co-founder and founding chairman, will transition to lead independent director and remain on the Board. Civik brings extensive oncology and biopharma leadership experience, having served as CEO of Five Prime Therapeutics and in senior roles at Foundation Medicine and Genentech. The company expects to report updated Phase 1 data for MICVO in 2L+ recurrent/metastatic head and neck cancer in fall 2026, and updated Phase 1/2 combination data with pembrolizumab in 1L recurrent/metastatic head and neck cancer in Q4 2026. Shares rose 9.12%.
