Target CorporationShipt, a Target subsidiary, names a new CEO; leadership change at the unit is a passing context mention with no clear driver for Target.

Shipt announced that Raj Kapoor will rejoin the company as its next Chief Executive Officer, effective Oct. 18, 2026. Kapoor previously served as Shipt's Chief Operating Officer from 2022 to 2025, and since 2025 has been senior vice president of marketplace at Target, where he drove growth on Target Plus. He succeeds current CEO Kamau Witherspoon, who has led Shipt for more than four years and will remain in his role through late October to support a smooth transition. Witherspoon, who spent more than 15 years across the Target enterprise, guided Shipt through a strategic and operational transformation that expanded same-day and next-day delivery, integrated the Shipt marketplace as a benefit in the Target Circle 360 loyalty program, and invested in features such as Preferred Shopper. Shipt, an independently operated subsidiary of Target headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, powers same-day delivery connecting members to more than 120 retailers and Target Last Mile Delivery, and its same-day service is available to 80% of the US population.
