Power Assets Holdings Limited is an investment holding company involved in electricity generation, transmission, and distribution across Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, mainland China, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Thailand, the United States, and internationally. It produces energy from thermal, renewable, and waste sources. The company also develops green energy, distributes oil and gas, and provides trust administration and management services. Formerly known as Hongkong Electric Holdings Limited, it changed its name to Power Assets Holdings Limited in February 2011. Founded in 1889, it is based in Central, Hong Kong.

CATL and Techtronic Industries could be included in Hang Seng Tech Index reform, says CICC

CICC said CATL and Techtronic Industries could be included in the index as part of the Hang Seng Tech Index reform. In a list of Hong Kong and China related articles distributed on the afternoon of the 17th, it was also reported that Power Assets Holdings and CK Infrastructure significantly increased interim net profit on gains from selling their UK businesses, that CATL will invest 4.1 billion yuan in the parent company of Hangzhou Zhongheng Electric, and that Alibaba Group will sell its gaming business brand Lingxi Games to Trustar Capital. In addition, China's industrial production rose 4.5 percent year on year in July, retail sales rose 0.6 percent, fixed asset investment fell 6.7 percent in the January to July period, property sales fell 13 percent, and investment fell 19 percent. A Reuters report that the United States is asking countries to choose sides in the AI development race with China was also introduced.

Power Assets Holdings first-half profit surges to HK$14.7 billion on UK divestments

Power Assets Holdings reported a profit attributable to equity shareholders of HK$14.7 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2026, up from HK$3.04 billion a year earlier, driven by the divestment of its interests in UK Power Networks and UK Rails. Earnings per share rose to HK$6.90 from HK$1.43. Revenue declined to HK$298 million from HK$352 million. The board declared an interim dividend of HK$0.78 per share, payable on 22 September 2026 to shareholders on record as of 10 September 2026.
