AI demand outruns supply; Nvidia, AMD, Broadcom and Marvell scale up
▲
Nvidia's blowout quarter and record buyback confirm AI demand is still accelerating Nvidia's revenue more than doubled, data-center sales hit $89B, and it guided next quarter to $108B, with the new Vera Rubin chip in full production. It also added a $150B buyback, the largest in US history. This keeps Nvidia and its suppliers (TSMC, memory makers) in a powerful upcycle.
Nvidia's results and buyback are the clearest evidence that AI hardware demand remains strong, directly lifting the whole chip supply chain.
AMD and Broadcom deepen AI push with deals and financing AMD will buy AI lab World Labs for $8.2B and says demand still outpaces supply. Broadcom is assembling over $50B in private debt to fund custom AI chips for OpenAI. These moves strengthen AMD and Broadcom as alternatives to Nvidia, while adding competitive pressure on Nvidia.
AMD's acquisition and Broadcom's financing show the custom-chip and full-stack AI race is broadening, affecting multiple chipmakers.
AI infrastructure spending spreads to power, cooling, networking and financing GE Vernova's AI data-center orders topped $5B in H1, more than all of 2025. Lumentum's optical parts are sold out through 2029. Applied Digital signed a $5.2B hyperscaler lease. Amazon may move $8B of Nvidia chips into an outside-financed vehicle. This lifts power, cooling, networking and financing partners.
These stories show the AI buildout is broadening beyond chips into power, cooling, networking and creative financing, benefiting a wider set of companies.

Ledger device asset drain traced to hidden rogue hardware, losses widen to $93.2 million
Ledger, the maker of cryptocurrency hardware wallets, announced on its official X account that an improperly installed device was found inside the unit of one user affected by an asset drain. In its investigation report, the research team Tibane Labs explained that the rogue device embedded in Ledger's Nano X reads the display data sent to the screen and transmits the recovery phrase used to restore assets to the outside via a mobile phone network. However, the device Tibane Labs examined was not purchased from CryptoBilis, and no link to the current asset drain has been confirmed. Mark Karpeles, former CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange Mt. Gox, also reported that a device he obtained had a spy device hidden behind its screen. The issue came to light after users who bought devices from Southeast Asian vendor CryptoBilis reported asset drains. The blockchain analytics firm Bitquery estimated the losses at $92.9 million, or about 14.68 billion yen at 158 yen to the dollar, as of October 9, and in an investigation report updated on the 10th it widened the tally to 315 wallets and $93.2 million, or about 14.73 billion yen. CryptoBilis has halted sales of all hardware wallets in its inventory until the investigation is complete, while Ledger said it is contacting victims and working with relevant authorities, and urged users who bought devices from CryptoBilis to hold off on initial setup, or if already set up, to consider moving their assets to a different device configured with a new recovery phrase.
Apple to Ship HomePad Screen on October 13 Without Enterprise Siri
Apple will host its Welcome Home event in Tribeca on October 13, unveiling the HomePad, a device expected to feature a 6-inch square display, the A18 chip, and Face ID, with a rumored price point of $350. The hardware arrives without the conversational, multi-step HomeKit agent that was meant to power it, now delayed until late 2026 or early 2027, leaving only notification summaries and natural language search for HomeKit Secure Video at launch. As of October 11, Siri AI has reached its 28th day since the September 14 beta launch with no enterprise tier, no administrative control, no audit logging, and no SSO, and IT departments are actively blocking or disabling it. Competitors have moved faster: Meta's Muse, launched September 8, has 1.1 million installs and three pricing tiers at free for 100 million tokens per week, $20 per month for Power, and $100 per month for Maximum, plus an Enterprise Platform led by former MongoDB CEO CJ Desai, while xAI's GrokBot has roughly 400,000 users after its August beta launch and is embedded in Cursor Premium Teams at $120 per seat per month. Ketan Karkhanis, CEO of ThoughtSpot, said on CNBC on October 7 that enterprise-scale agentic workflow adoption is still in its early chapters, and the October 13 event will show whether Apple offers any roadmap or timeline for enterprise-grade Siri or cedes the market to rivals that have already shipped the governance layer.

Startale Launches 5% Annual-Yield Digital Retail Bonds, Interest Paid in JPYSC
Startale Japan has begun offering digital retail bonds with a 5% annual interest rate. Interest payments and redemption will use JPYSC, a trust-type yen-denominated stablecoin. The bonds are managed on infrastructure built with Hyperledger Fabric, while JPYSC is issued on Ethereum, meaning the bonds and the funds for interest payments do not sit on the same blockchain. The company sees the connection costs of horizontal specialization as a challenge, and has set out a vertical integration strategy that provides everything from base layers such as Strium, a blockchain dedicated to on-chain finance, through to JPYSC and wallets. This initiative is positioned as the current form of efforts to promote the adoption of JPYSC.

Abbott Laboratories Debuts Ensure Max Protein Powder With Creatine And HMB
Abbott Laboratories introduced Ensure Max Protein 3-in-1 Muscle Support, a combined protein, creatine, and HMB powder that is NSF certified and targets muscle building, recovery, and preservation for everyday active consumers and athletes. The launch expands Abbott's nutrition portfolio beyond devices and diagnostics into a broader performance-focused supplement offering, edging the company into a space where firms like Nestlé Health Science and Danone are already active. The product lands in Abbott's Nutrition segment, which the company's narrative casts as rebuilding trust and profitability after legal issues while medical technology and diagnostics do the heavy lifting for future earnings. Relative to large-ticket catalysts such as Libre, electrophysiology tools and Cancer Diagnostics, Ensure Max Protein looks more like incremental support for Nutrition recovery than a central earnings driver, especially with analysts still flagging legal exposure and margin pressure in the segment.

Amazon Weighs $8 Billion Outside Financing for Nvidia Chips
Amazon.com is reportedly considering moving roughly $8 billion of Nvidia Grace Blackwell chips into a special-purpose vehicle financed by outside investors and then leasing the hardware back, a structure that would make part of its AI buildout more asset-light as capital spending is expected to reach $220 billion this year. AWS revenue rose 37% to $42.2 billion in the second quarter, its fastest growth in more than four years, and contract backlog reached $496 billion, while CEO Andy Jassy said the company still lacks enough capacity to meet demand. Trailing-12-month free cash flow swung to negative $7.6 billion from positive $18.2 billion a year earlier as infrastructure spending accelerated. Amazon trades at 23.64 times forward earnings, and Tigress Financial recently raised its target to $385 from $315, arguing earnings from the investment cycle are approaching an inflection point where they grow faster than operating capital. The proposal also raises the question of residual chip value, since Grace Blackwell will eventually be superseded by Vera Rubin while Amazon assumes semiconductor generations remain useful for at least five years.

Merck's Remigromig Meets Primary Endpoint in Pivotal BRUNELLO DME Trial
Merck announced that remigromig, an investigational tri-specific antibody that activates the Wnt pathway, met the primary endpoint in the pivotal Phase 2b/3 BRUNELLO trial in adults with diabetic macular edema, with both dose arms demonstrating non-inferiority in mean change from baseline in best corrected visual acuity at one year versus monthly 0.5mg ranibizumab. Mean BCVA gains at Year 1 were +9.1 letters with remigromig 0.5 mg and +8.7 letters with remigromig 0.8 mg, compared with +11.8 letters with ranibizumab, and no secondary endpoints demonstrated superiority to ranibizumab. The company said remigromig is the first biologic with a novel mechanism of action to demonstrate non-inferior visual acuity compared with anti-VEGF therapy in a pivotal DME trial, and the first new mechanism of action in more than 20 years to do so. Adverse events related to proliferative diabetic retinopathy occurred more frequently with remigromig than with ranibizumab, at 6.7% and 6.1% for the 0.5 mg and 0.8 mg arms versus 0.9%, and treatment discontinuations due to adverse events were also higher, at 4.9% and 4.5% versus 0.9%. The results, presented at the American Academy of Ophthalmology 2026 Annual Meeting in New Orleans, will be discussed with regulatory authorities, and remigromig is also being evaluated in the ongoing pivotal Phase 2b/3 BAROLO study in DME and a Phase 2 proof-of-concept study in NVAMD and RVO.

Roche's vamikibart shows one-year vision gains in uveitic macular edema as FDA accepts BLA
Roche announced new one-year data from the Phase III MEERKAT and SANDCAT studies showing that investigational vamikibart sustained improvements in vision and reductions in macular thickness in adults with uveitic macular edema at 52 weeks compared with a sham procedure. The results were presented at the American Academy of Ophthalmology 2026 Annual Meeting in New Orleans. The FDA has accepted Roche's Biologics License Application for vamikibart for the treatment of UME, with an approval decision expected by July 2027; if approved, vamikibart would be the first non-steroid targeted treatment for UME. Regulatory submissions have also been filed and accepted in the European Union, China and Japan. In both trials, a numerically higher proportion of vamikibart-treated patients achieved vision gains than those on sham treatment on the primary endpoint, and key secondary endpoints showed sustained improvements in best corrected visual acuity and central subfield thickness. Vamikibart was well tolerated with a low incidence of treatment-related ocular adverse events and intraocular inflammation events, and approximately two-thirds of eligible patients required no retreatment after 16 weeks.
GlobalFoundries Unveils FDX Fusion Physical AI Platform in Dresden
GlobalFoundries announced FDX Fusion, a next-generation FD-SOI platform to be developed and manufactured in Dresden for highly integrated, energy-efficient Physical AI chips spanning sensing, compute, control and connectivity functions. The platform blends seven nanometer class digital performance with advanced RF, analog and embedded memory on a single chip aimed at edge and automotive, industrial and consumer AI systems. The launch fits GlobalFoundries' broader shift away from weaker smart mobile demand toward automotive, industrial, communications and AI applications, though it does not immediately change the near term risk that higher investment and oversubscribed niches like SiGe could still coexist with only high 80s percent fab utilization. Among recent announcements, a US$2 billion, five year silicon interposer deal with TSMC reinforces GlobalFoundries' role in AI hardware supply alongside FDX Fusion, with the Dresden FDX roadmap and Malta advanced packaging capacity sitting squarely against the key catalyst of moving its revenue mix toward higher value, AI linked processes. GlobalFoundries' narrative projects $10.4 billion revenue and $1.7 billion earnings by 2029, requiring 14.5% yearly revenue growth and a roughly $1.0 billion earnings increase from $716.0 million today, while the most optimistic analysts already assumed about US$11.7 billion of revenue and US$2.3 billion of earnings by 2029.
Apple Discloses Reverse Acqui-Hire Deal With Podcast Startup Huxe
Apple has disclosed in a regulatory filing that it reached an agreement to hire team members and license technology from personalized audio startup Huxe, in what is commonly known as a reverse acqui-hire. Apple told the European Commission it agreed to make employment offers to certain employees of Huxe AI and to receive a non-exclusive license to Huxe's intellectual property rights. Huxe was founded by developers who had previously worked on the AI-generated podcast features in NotebookLM, recently renamed Gemini Notebook, and the startup announced on May 21 that it was shutting down, pulling its app from the Apple and Google stores, halting service, and deleting user data. Apple notified the European Commission of the deal on June 9, shortly after Huxe's shutdown announcement. The filing does not say who received employment offers or whether they accepted, nor does it disclose Apple's plans; Huxe's shutdown came just a day after Spotify unveiled AI-powered podcast generation features of its own.

Nvidia in early talks to acquire or invest further in Reflection AI
Nvidia is in early-stage discussions to acquire or increase its investment in Reflection AI, a U.S. startup focused on developing open-weight models, the Financial Times reported, citing people familiar with the discussions. The structure of a potential deal could take several forms, including a so-called acqui-hire that would let Nvidia hire staff and license technology while avoiding antitrust scrutiny tied to a full acquisition, and deal terms currently under discussion were not available. Nvidia, the world's most valuable company, has already invested $800M into Reflection, which was last valued at $25B in a March funding round. Nvidia, whose CEO Jensen Huang has in the past called for an open-weight ecosystem for AI, could also make an additional equity investment in Reflection or reach an agreement to supply more chips or computing power to the company. Multiple people with knowledge of the matter said a deal could be reached in the coming weeks, while cautioning that the companies could also walk away from the talks; Nvidia and Reflection did not respond to the Financial Times' requests for comment.
Zenity Labs disclosed critical AWS Bedrock AgentCore security flaws affecting all agents in an account, and Amazon has since mitigated the issue. Researchers found that a single malicious prompt could expose internal data and cloud credentials before AWS patched the vulnerability. The disclosure comes as Amazon has recently cut nearly 1,000 jobs across several core units while continuing to hire heavily for AI-focused roles. The Bedrock AgentCore security exposure and the workforce cuts both bear on whether Amazon's heavy AI-focused capital spending translates into long-duration contracts and strong returns on invested capital rather than higher operational risk. Investors will be watching how AWS security and incident disclosures evolve over the next few quarters, along with any spike in customer churn or added compliance costs tied to the security and workforce changes.

Cloudflare acquires Deno to strengthen Workers platform
Cloudflare announced Friday that it is acquiring Deno, the startup behind the programming runtime of the same name. According to Cloudflare's Kenton Varda, principal engineer for Cloudflare Workers, the company will use the acquisition to improve its Workers programming model and platform, which lets customers build and run software on Cloudflare's network. Deno, co-founded by Bert Belder and Node.js creator Ryan Dahl, recently launched celld, an open source implementation of Workers that Varda said delighted the Cloudflare team. Varda pushed back on what he called a popular theory that Cloudflare made Workers work differently from other cloud platforms to create lock-in, saying the company believes being open source and giving people an escape hatch is good business. Dahl wrote that his team is joining Cloudflare to make the Workers programming model a mainstream way to build servers. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, and Deno had raised a total of $26 million, including a Series A led by Sequoia.
MSCI Launches SignalLab Platform With Over 600 Investment Signals
MSCI has launched SignalLab, a data platform built to centralize more than 600 research-grade investment signals and tools for testing ideas at scale. The launch comes after a mixed stretch for MSCI's stock, with the share price up 5.44% over the last week but down 6.55% over the past three months and close to flat year to date, while the 1-year total shareholder return of 4.81% points to modest gains. MSCI closed at $565.12, and the prevailing narrative pegs fair value at $762.58, framing SignalLab against a business already seen as materially underpriced on cash generation and margins. The company produces roughly $800+ million in quarterly revenue and generates EBITDA margins above 60%, though the narrative could crack if asset-based fee growth slows or client budgets tighten for premium data and analytics like SignalLab. The current P/E sits at 30.3x, more expensive than the peer average of 26.3x and roughly double the fair ratio of 14.9x, while the broader US Capital Markets group carries an average P/E of 39.2x.

GE Vernova AI Data Center Orders Top $5 Billion in First Half of 2026
GE Vernova reports that AI data center related orders exceeded US$5b in the first half of 2026, a figure management says is already more than double the data center order total recorded for all of 2025. The US based electrical group supplies equipment and services to generate, move, coordinate, convert, and store power across the US, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, positioning it directly in the path of rising data center electricity needs. Industry analysts suggest power equipment suppliers such as GE Vernova may benefit from AI demand regardless of which developers lead the field. The company's broader story extends beyond this single development, and the projects carry exposure to large, lumpy infrastructure contracts and the possibility of delays, deferrals, or weaker pricing if customer budgets tighten. The clearest way to judge whether this read holds is to watch GE Vernova's disclosed data center backlog conversion and margins across 2027, especially how much of these AI related orders translate into on time revenue and service contracts without a visible rise in project cancellations or profit shortfalls.

Bernstein: Consumer AI Agents Could Reshape Online Shopping, Payments
Consumer artificial intelligence agents could reshape online shopping, payments and financial services, but their success will depend on how established companies respond, according to Bernstein. The rapid growth of Muse, which can compare products and quotes, call businesses, send emails, fill forms, manage inboxes, cancel subscriptions and negotiate for users, has fuelled speculation about an "iPhone moment" for consumer AI, with OpenAI launching Dots and Google expected to improve Spark. Amazon blocked Muse within two weeks of launch, citing lack of prior notification, failure to identify itself, apparent collection of customer credentials and access to account pages and order histories, while others including Shopify, Walmart, Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Wayfair, Dick's Sporting Goods, Ulta Beauty, Fanatics, Expedia and Instacart have partnered with Muse for shopping and checkout. Bernstein expects selective access rather than blanket blocking, and Muse is developing API connectors with retailers, although it currently mainly browses websites, fills forms and prepares orders for user confirmation. Cloudflare says AI-agent requests on its network rose over 1,700% in a year, while human traffic in heavily crawled retail and financial-services categories fell as much as 40%, and Bernstein sees payments as a potential winner, with more online transactions potentially benefiting Visa, Mastercard and processors Stripe, Adyen and Checkout.

Diageo's Johnnie Walker Launches Limited Edition Blue Label Indian Festive Blend
Diageo brand Johnnie Walker has introduced a limited edition Blue Label Indian Festive Blend inspired by India's festivals and cuisine. The release features packaging and design created with Indian couturier Rahul Mishra, highlighting contemporary Indian visual themes, and the blend is tailored specifically for the Indian market, reflecting local flavor influences and cultural traditions. AI Agents Reshape Back-Office Jobs in Procurement, Finance, Accounting
AI agents are moving from experimental pilots into procurement, accounting, and finance, where they are redesigning work through role consolidation, hiring freezes, and the quiet absorption of junior positions. Workday has launched a suite of AI agents for finance, including an Accounting Agent that continuously reconciles accounts, tests controls, and catches variances, and a Procurement Agent that reviews every transaction against contract terms and SLAs. SAP has introduced Joule agents for procurement through Ariba and Fieldglass, plus an Expense Automation Agent the company says cuts report completion time by up to 30% and a Project Billing Price Verification Agent that reduces time spent resolving price discrepancies by 75%. On Oct. 7, Automation Anywhere announced the acquisition of Boost.ai, extending its Autonomous Enterprise vision, the idea that business functions can run up to 80% autonomously, into conversational and voice AI for back-office workflows. BCG's Henderson Institute reported in January 2026 that 50% to 55% of US jobs will be reshaped in the next two to three years, with 10% to 15% eliminated within five, and data from JobZone Risk in October 2026 shows that of 21 million US workers in finance and accounting, only 3% sit in what the firm calls a structurally safe zone. Ninety percent of Chief Procurement Officers are already exploring or using AI agents, according to Icertis and ProcureCon research, and 64% expect AI to transform their roles within five years, per the Hackett Group.

HSBC Upgrades Synopsys to Buy, Lifts Price Target to $700
HSBC upgraded Synopsys to Buy from Hold on September 25 and raised its price target from $490 to $700, implying a multiple of nearly 35 times HSBC's fiscal 2027 EPS estimates. Analyst Frank Lee said the company is evolving beyond its traditional slow-growth software profile as its licensing-plus-royalty model and agentic AI tools create a new path to benefit from AI. The upgrade follows Synopsys' fiscal third-quarter results, when revenue rose 42% to $2.48 billion, including approximately $711 million from Ansys, alongside higher full-year guidance. Synopsys announced a multiyear agreement worth more than $1 billion with Amazon on September 30, combining IP licensing with production-linked royalties, though the company has said revenue synergies from Ansys will not begin until fiscal 2027. The stock trades at approximately 61 times the midpoint of management's fiscal 2027 GAAP EPS guidance, or roughly 28 times adjusted earnings, and carries about $7 billion more debt than cash, largely tied to the Ansys deal.

Google Launches Prototype TPU Satellite Aboard SpaceX Mission
Alphabet Inc. has launched a prototype Tensor Processing Unit satellite aboard SpaceX's Transporter-18 mission on October 1, 2026, in partnership with Planet, marking its first concrete step toward putting data centers in orbit. The test, part of Google's Project Suncatcher, will examine how its TPUs handle launch stress, radiation, and extreme temperatures in low Earth orbit, with ground testing already showing Trillium TPUs can withstand radiation levels higher than those expected across a five-year mission. Heat management remains a key challenge because conventional air cooling does not work in a vacuum, prompting Google to evaluate heat pipes and radiators, and a two-satellite test is planned for 2027. Google emphasized the current mission is intended to collect engineering data rather than demonstrate a commercial system. SpaceX could benefit from additional orbital AI experiments if hyperscalers continue choosing its launch services, even as its valuation of over $2 trillion at about 45 times forward sales rests on management's own targets, including Elon Musk's expectation of a $100 billion annual revenue run rate by December and a $1 trillion revenue target moved up to 2030.

BWX Technologies' BANR Microreactor Chosen for Indigenous-Led Plant in Canada
Prodigy Clean Energy, together with Pabineau First Nation and Eel River Bar First Nation, selected BWX Technologies' BANR microreactor technology for an Indigenous-owned, transportable nuclear power plant in Belledune, New Brunswick, targeting in-service operation in the early 2030s with modular, factory-built units. The project is backed by a Government of New Brunswick power offtake letter and advances BWXT's push into transportable microreactors that could underpin future deployments across remote Canadian regions and export markets. The selection gives BWXT another reference project for its microreactor catalyst, though it does not materially reduce risks around contract concentration, commercial margin pressure, or execution on its expanding capital program. Among other recent announcements, BWXT received a US$4 million preliminary design award from the NNSA for a new Lithium Processing Facility at Y 12, which together with the Belledune project feeds the same nuclear-focused backlog story. The company's narrative projects $4.8 billion revenue and $539.9 million earnings by 2029, requiring 10.7% yearly revenue growth and a $184.7 million earnings increase from $355.2 million today, while the most pessimistic analysts model revenue of about US$4.5 billion and earnings of roughly US$519 million by 2029.

argenx Halts Phase 3 Sjögren's Trial, Reports FB102 Celiac Data
argenx halted its Phase 3 Sjögren's trial for futility while reporting encouraging data for FB102 in celiac disease, a mixed pipeline update that reshapes expectations for the company's future earnings. The news comes after argenx delivered a share price gain of 185.3% over the past 5 years. On valuation, argenx trades at about 29.7x earnings, above the broader biotech industry average of roughly 25.0x but below the peer group average of about 36.3x. The halted Sjögren's trial removes one potential earnings stream, while the FB102 celiac data points to a different route to future profits, leaving investors to weigh near-term pipeline risk against an already established earnings base. Community views on argenx are split, with a bull case putting the stock 43% undervalued and a bear case putting it 6% overvalued.
AstraZeneca Launches AI Biologics Discovery Tie-Up With Carterra
AstraZeneca has launched a new AI-driven biologics discovery collaboration with Carterra, announced ahead of trading on 9 October 2026. The partnership links AstraZeneca's AI models with Carterra's high-throughput biosensor instruments to create autonomous, lab-in-the-loop discovery workflows. The project focuses on large molecule biologics, aiming to shorten experimental decision cycles and scale up antibody and protein engineering campaigns. AstraZeneca, which operates at a £186.1 billion market cap scale, is betting that the tie-up supports the premise that heavier spending on technologies like AI will translate into faster, more targeted drug launches and stronger earnings power. The unresolved question is whether such AI collaborations can offset pressure from patent expiries, price controls and high core R&D spend, especially as competitors like Pfizer and Merck also wire AI into their discovery lines.

vTv Therapeutics Presents Data on Hypoglycemia Burden in Type 1 Diabetes at Breakthrough T1D Congress
vTv Therapeutics announced that Chief Medical Officer Thomas Strack presented new research on hypoglycemia-related burdens among adults with type 1 diabetes using automated insulin delivery systems at the inaugural Breakthrough T1D Clinical & Research Congress in Philadelphia. The study, commissioned by vTv and conducted by dQ&A Market Research, surveyed 674 adults with type 1 diabetes, of whom 429 were using automated insulin delivery systems. Among those AID users, 24% reported frequent Level 2 hypoglycemia, 12% reported a Level 3 event in the past 12 months, and 17% reported impaired awareness of hypoglycemia. After accounting for overlap across segments and weighting for A1C, approximately 54% of adults with type 1 diabetes using an AID system were estimated to experience at least one of four hypoglycemia-related burden dimensions. The research supports vTv's cadisegliatin, a potential first-in-class oral liver-selective glucokinase activator being evaluated as an adjunctive therapy to insulin for type 1 diabetes, which has received Breakthrough Therapy designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

LB Pharmaceuticals Presents Preclinical Data on LB-102 Mechanism at ECNP Congress
LB Pharmaceuticals announced the presentation of four posters at the 39th European College of Neuropsychopharmacology Congress in Munich, Germany, running October 10-13, 2026. The posters cover new preclinical data on LB-102's differentiated mechanism of action, the pivotal Phase 3 program in schizophrenia known as NOVA-2 and NOVA-3, the ongoing late-stage Phase 2 ILLUMINATE-1 trial in bipolar depression, and a previously reported analysis of LB-102's impact on cognitive performance from the Phase 2 NOVA-1 trial in schizophrenia. The preclinical data showed that LB-102 can modulate dopamine signaling through engagement of pre-synaptic D2 autoreceptors, increasing dopamine neurotransmission, which the company said supports a potential mechanism for addressing the hypodopaminergic state associated with anhedonia and diminished motivation in depression. A post hoc analysis of the Phase 2 NOVA-1 trial found that the dose-dependent, statistically significant improvements in cognitive performance were primarily a direct effect of LB-102 rather than an indirect consequence of the drug's effect on total schizophrenia symptoms. LB-102 is a novel, once-daily, orally administered investigational small molecule engineered as a modification to amisulpride, and the company believes it has the opportunity to be the first benzamide antipsychotic drug approved for neuropsychiatric disorders in the United States.

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff Rebrands AIForce as SIForce After Trump's Super Intelligence Push
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff has become the latest tech billionaire to align his company's branding with President Donald Trump's push to replace the term "artificial intelligence" with "super intelligence," announcing that the company's AIForce product will be renamed SIForce. In an X post on Friday, Benioff wrote that "The era of Super Intelligence is here. AIForce is officially SIForce," signaling a major revamp to Salesforce's recently launched AI-powered live interface layer for enterprise clients. His announcement followed Trump's warning on Thursday that his administration considers anyone who uses the term "artificial intelligence" instead of "Super Intelligence" to be "THE ENEMY." In late September, Trump signed an executive order requiring all federal agencies to substitute "Super Intelligence" and "SI" for "Artificial Intelligence" and "AI" in public communications, websites, reports, and policy documents. Although the executive order does not apply to private organizations, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk earlier this week announced plans to rename his company's AI unit SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI, showing how Trump's new terminology is gaining traction among big tech.

Vannor Launches Agentic Marketing After 30-Fold Rise in First-Page Google Rankings
Vannor launched its agentic marketing model, introducing autonomous AI agents that manage a brand's marketing workflow from research and content planning through publication and ongoing optimization. The launch follows early results from Vannor's own deployment of the technology: within one week, the company increased its weekly Google search impressions from 318 to 1,762, reaching 554% of its previous weekly search visibility, and over a one-month period it recorded a 30-fold increase in the number of Google searches for which it ranked on the first page, with top-three rankings up 51-fold, based on Google Search Console data comparing August 24-30 with September 23-29, 2026. The agents research live search results and a brand's existing search data, decide which topics or pages to prioritize, create content in the brand's voice, and pass each piece through an AI editor and a separate AI review panel with hard safeguards blocking invented facts, prices, and quotes before approved content is published directly to platforms such as WordPress, Shopify, and Wix. The system runs on NVIDIA DGX Spark AI supercomputer hardware owned and operated by Vannor, using GB10 Grace Blackwell architecture, 128 GB of unified memory per node, and ConnectX-7 networking, with customer information processed only on Vannor-owned hardware and never sent to a third-party AI provider. Vannor is now moving toward a partner model, focusing on multi-location brands, agencies managing marketing for client businesses, and growing companies that need to produce and optimize marketing across multiple channels, with applications accepted at vannor.ai/contact.

Ramp Reaches $60 Billion Valuation in $1.85 Billion Round Led by Dragoneer and Thrive
Ramp has reached a valuation of roughly $60 billion in its latest fundraising round, according to people familiar with the matter, bringing in about $1.85 billion with the $60 billion figure representing the pre-money valuation, as reported by Bloomberg's Rebecca Torrence. Dragoneer Investment Group and Thrive Capital led the round, with Founders Fund also contributing a large check, while Ramp declined to comment and the investors did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The pace is easy to read from the numbers alone: Ramp raised $750 million in June at a $44 billion valuation, by which point it was working with 70,000 businesses, up from 50,000 at the start of the year, with annualized revenue past $1.5 billion, while Brex, once Ramp's closest startup competitor, sold to Capital One for $5.15 billion earlier this year. The new money is being valued against a product line that now runs on agents: in April Ramp launched a suite of AI agents for procurement that handle vendor sourcing, generate and score RFx documents, triage intake, run compliance reviews, and track renewals, aimed at the 98% of U.S. businesses that employ no one to oversee purchasing, and the Q2 2026 product release shipped Ramp Stack, an operating system for accounting firms that runs reconciliations, schedules, and monthly reporting end to end, plus purchasing agents and AI token spend management. The savings claims that come with it are Ramp's own, footnoted to its own customer data and analysis as median figures that include planned features: 46 hours of manual purchasing work eliminated per month, approvals running three times faster, and an average 16% cut in annual vendor spend. On Ramp's agent platform, every spending agent gets a durable identity and an owner, a budget and merchant restrictions before money moves, a human approver in the loop, and an audit trail that records every payment and accounting sync as it happens, with agents buying through Agent Card checkout, the Machine Payments Protocol, or the x402 protocol. The round itself is Bloomberg's reporting on people familiar with the matter; Ramp has not confirmed it, and no use of funds has been reported, so the connection between the money and the agent stack is an inference from the product line, not a stated plan.

Apple Cuts iPhone 18 Pro Component Orders 15% to 20% on Soft Demand and Memory Costs
Apple asked suppliers to cut October component orders for its new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max by at least 15% to 20%, according to early October 2026 reports, citing softer demand and sharply higher memory chip costs tied to AI infrastructure. The order reduction lands on the iPhone 18 and foldable iPhone Duo cycle, which the article frames as Apple's key near-term catalyst, and reflects pressure from elevated component pricing and mixed reception to higher flagship iPhone prices. Separately, Apple made Formula 1 available in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos on Apple TV in the U.S., a Services-side addition that does not offset the weaker iPhone 18 Pro demand or elevated memory pricing. Apple's narrative projects $618.2 billion in revenue and $164.4 billion in earnings by 2029, requiring 9.8% yearly revenue growth and roughly a $35.5 billion earnings increase from $128.9 billion today, with a $328.09 fair value implying 3% downside to the current price. The most pessimistic analysts already assumed about US$624,000,000,000 in revenue and near US$156,000,000,000 in earnings by 2029 on thinner margins, and the demand wobble and memory cost spike could push that cautious view on execution and profitability further.
BlackBerry Expands Asset Intelligence Platform With Dynamic Pairing Tool
BlackBerry (TSX:BB) expanded its Asset Intelligence Platform with new Dynamic Pairing technology for connected equipment in freight operations. Gulf Winds adopted Dynamic Pairing to improve visibility on how its trailers and other equipment are linked across day to day workflows.
