Every time we ask ChatGPT something, the question races across the world to a giant chip in a data center and races back — but there's another kind of AI that never goes anywhere. It runs right in the device in our hand, on a tiny chip called an NPU. This node is the story of the silicon that lets AI run "on the device" — instant, working even with no internet, with your private data never leaving the device, and no cloud bill every time you ask. This is the new wave turning every phone, computer, and car into something that can "think for itself."

Microsoft pushes on-device AI on PCs; chip demand broadens

  • Microsoft rebuilds Windows around on-device AI agents Microsoft is redesigning Windows so AI agents run directly on PCs, not just in the cloud, and launched a Surface laptop using Nvidia's RTX Spark chip. This creates a new category of AI-capable computers that need powerful on-device silicon, lifting demand for edge AI chips.

This is the biggest new force this period: a major software platform shift that directly increases the need for on-device AI chips in PCs.

  • Microsoft's PC AI models and security tools broaden edge use Microsoft launched an AI coding model that runs on a PC and a security system (MXC) to control AI agents, with backing from Anthropic, OpenAI and Nvidia. Running AI locally on PCs requires more on-device processing power, expanding the market for edge AI silicon.

Shows concrete new software that makes local AI on PCs practical, a direct demand driver for edge AI chips.

  • Amlogic profit surges on smart device chip demand Amlogic expects net profit to jump 80–88% year-on-year, driven by its smart set-top box and smart TV chips. This shows that edge AI silicon demand is broadening beyond phones and PCs into everyday home devices, supporting the theme.

A concrete earnings signal that edge AI chip demand is spreading to new device categories, reinforcing the theme's growth.

  • Arm-Qualcomm royalty trial clouds licensing model Arm and Qualcomm are in a federal trial over billions in royalties for chips using Arm's designs. A ruling that weakens Arm's ability to enforce licenses could hurt its earnings and unsettle the chip industry's royalty model, a risk for edge AI chipmakers that rely on Arm technology.

This legal battle could change how chip designers pay for core technology, affecting costs and profits across the edge AI supply chain.

Apple to Ship HomePad Screen on October 13 Without Enterprise Siri

Apple will host its Welcome Home event in Tribeca on October 13, unveiling the HomePad, a device expected to feature a 6-inch square display, the A18 chip, and Face ID, with a rumored price point of $350. The hardware arrives without the conversational, multi-step HomeKit agent that was meant to power it, now delayed until late 2026 or early 2027, leaving only notification summaries and natural language search for HomeKit Secure Video at launch. As of October 11, Siri AI has reached its 28th day since the September 14 beta launch with no enterprise tier, no administrative control, no audit logging, and no SSO, and IT departments are actively blocking or disabling it. Competitors have moved faster: Meta's Muse, launched September 8, has 1.1 million installs and three pricing tiers at free for 100 million tokens per week, $20 per month for Power, and $100 per month for Maximum, plus an Enterprise Platform led by former MongoDB CEO CJ Desai, while xAI's GrokBot has roughly 400,000 users after its August beta launch and is embedded in Cursor Premium Teams at $120 per seat per month. Ketan Karkhanis, CEO of ThoughtSpot, said on CNBC on October 7 that enterprise-scale agentic workflow adoption is still in its early chapters, and the October 13 event will show whether Apple offers any roadmap or timeline for enterprise-grade Siri or cedes the market to rivals that have already shipped the governance layer.

GlobalFoundries Unveils FDX Fusion Physical AI Platform in Dresden

GlobalFoundries announced FDX Fusion, a next-generation FD-SOI platform to be developed and manufactured in Dresden for highly integrated, energy-efficient Physical AI chips spanning sensing, compute, control and connectivity functions. The platform blends seven nanometer class digital performance with advanced RF, analog and embedded memory on a single chip aimed at edge and automotive, industrial and consumer AI systems. The launch fits GlobalFoundries' broader shift away from weaker smart mobile demand toward automotive, industrial, communications and AI applications, though it does not immediately change the near term risk that higher investment and oversubscribed niches like SiGe could still coexist with only high 80s percent fab utilization. Among recent announcements, a US$2 billion, five year silicon interposer deal with TSMC reinforces GlobalFoundries' role in AI hardware supply alongside FDX Fusion, with the Dresden FDX roadmap and Malta advanced packaging capacity sitting squarely against the key catalyst of moving its revenue mix toward higher value, AI linked processes. GlobalFoundries' narrative projects $10.4 billion revenue and $1.7 billion earnings by 2029, requiring 14.5% yearly revenue growth and a roughly $1.0 billion earnings increase from $716.0 million today, while the most optimistic analysts already assumed about US$11.7 billion of revenue and US$2.3 billion of earnings by 2029.

Dan Ives Says Apple Will Be the Toll Collector on the Consumer AI Highway

Dan Ives of Yorkville Ives said Apple will be the toll collector on the consumer AI highway, arguing the company's installed base of more than 2.5 billion active devices and 1.5 billion iPhones lets it profit from AI built by others. In a note to clients on Thursday, Ives wrote that Apple finally has a horse in the race with an AI vision that will build over the coming years into a formidable piece of the Apple strategy, after struggling with its AI strategy and going through many twists and turns. He said this position is underappreciated and not priced into Apple's stock, and he believes another 75 dollars should be tacked onto the company's share price as AI capabilities facilitate upgrades and a 15 percent boost in services revenue. Ives compared the dynamic to app developers who had to go through Cupertino's tollbooth and pay its standard 30 percent commission. Apple shares closed at 340.42 dollars, up 3.75 or 1.11 percent, on October 8.

Qualcomm and Huawei Sign First Broad Multi-Year 5G and AI Patent Cross-License

Qualcomm and Huawei have entered a multi-year cross-license agreement covering 5G, AI, compute, and networking technologies, the first broad cross-license between the two companies for 5G and emerging technologies. The deal includes Qualcomm's purchase of select Huawei patents, which remains subject to regulatory approval in the United States. Qualcomm, a US semiconductor group with a market cap of about $189.1b, earns much of its influence by licensing wireless and compute technologies that underpin global 5G and AI hardware, so the new framework could affect future royalty structures for both firms. The agreement leans into the part of Qualcomm's story that treats intellectual property as the funding engine for non-handset expansion, supporting durable licensing flows as the company scales High Bandwidth Compute, automotive wins and IoT deals against rivals like Nvidia and MediaTek. Qualcomm remains exposed to handset cycles and legal disputes with players such as Arm and ParkerVision, and analysts have flagged risks that earnings could decline on current forecasts.

New Apple CEO John Ternus Shakes Up Device Launches, Trims Siri and Vision Pro

New Apple CEO John Ternus is restructuring how the company releases products, pushing for new devices throughout the year instead of concentrating them at spring and fall events, according to Bloomberg. Ternus, just over a month into the job, is also weighing cuts to layers of middle management so engineers work more closely with leadership, while Apple pulls back on projects it deems less essential, including Siri, Vision Pro, and some AI software teams. Bank of America analyst Wamsi Mohan still rates Apple a Buy with a $370 target and calls it an eventual winner of AI at the edge, but warns that iPhone owners increasingly turn to agents like Meta's Muse to shop and book, potentially shifting app-download and search-traffic value away from Apple. Apple's forward P/E stands at 37.78x, roughly 28% above its most recent historical average of 29.55x, while EPS growth is expected to slow from 18.38% in fiscal 2026 to 8.51% in 2027. Hedge funds held steady, with the number holding Apple slipping from 170 in Q1 to 169 in Q2 while their stakes rose from $107.5 billion to $124.8 billion.

Microsoft launches AI coding on PC with MXC system to control AI agents

Microsoft has unveiled an AI model for writing code that runs directly on personal computers, along with a new security technology called Microsoft Execution Containers, or MXC, that helps prevent AI agents from accessing data or performing actions without authorization. The launch is part of a plan to push Windows as a platform for autonomous AI agents that can handle everything from writing code to managing complex business projects on desktops and laptops, amid competition with Apple, which is racing to bring AI to personal devices. Pavan Davuluri, Microsoft's executive vice president for Windows and devices, said Anthropic, OpenAI and Nvidia will adopt MXC, and that the system lets corporate IT departments set rules for how AI agents operate and has Windows enforce those rules on each employee's machine. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said the company needs to make the desktop the safest place for AI agents to work, while Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, who shared the stage with Nadella, said MXC technology will revolutionize how AI agents are built and deployed, and that without such technology, deploying AI agents would be nearly impossible. The push to bring AI to personal computers also opens the way for Nvidia to expand into the PC market, one of the key markets dominated by Intel and Advanced Micro Devices.

Arm Holdings and Qualcomm Head to Federal Trial Over Billions in Royalty Payments

Arm Holdings and Qualcomm have entered a high-stakes federal trial over alleged breaches of their chip licensing agreements, centering on billions of dollars in potential royalty payments tied to Qualcomm designs that incorporate Arm architecture. Legal arguments focus on whether Qualcomm's use of Arm technology through certain partners falls within existing contract terms or requires fresh licenses, and Qualcomm is seeking to stop paying some royalties for up to five years. Arm Holdings licenses CPU, graphics and systems IP that underpins many smartphone and data-center chips, so the case puts the focus on how this US$323.2 billion semiconductor business enforces and monetises its core designs when large customers route production through complex partner structures. A ruling that weakens Arm's ability to enforce contracts with a large customer could challenge the thesis that rising royalty rates and AI-focused data center royalties support higher earnings. Investors can track the trial timetable through 2026, watch for interim rulings on contract interpretation, and scan Arm's future filings for quantified commentary on Qualcomm-related royalty exposure or any changes to licensing terms with big chip customers.

QUALCOMM Files US$4.60b Shelf Registration for 25,000,000 Shares

QUALCOMM has put a fresh US$4.60b shelf registration in place for up to 25,000,000 common shares, giving the chip designer extra flexibility to tap equity markets as conditions evolve. The filing comes as QUALCOMM shares have eased over the past week, with a 7 day share price return of down 3.76% and a 90 day move of down 7.32%, even as the 1 year total shareholder return of 7.77% and 3 year total shareholder return of 69.85% point to longer-term momentum. The most followed narrative pegs fair value at $194.13, above the last close of $177.12, while a discounted cash flow model estimates future cash flow value of $171.75, suggesting a mild premium at the current level. Execution on the AWS custom silicon and optical connectivity agreement, which could total up to US$60b of product purchases over ten years and is expected to start contributing from the December 2026 quarter, would support QUALCOMM's new data center revenue goals of US$5b in fiscal 2027 and US$15b in fiscal 2029. Handset exposure and rising AI chip competition could still derail those long range non-handset targets if smartphone demand or major cloud orders disappoint.

Amlogic, a company listed on the STAR Market, announced that it expects net profit attributable to owners of the parent company in the third quarter of 2026 to be between 649 million and 699 million yuan, up 222.67% to 247.52% year-on-year and up 48.36% to 59.79% quarter-on-quarter. Revenue for the first three quarters is expected to be between 7.08 billion and 7.18 billion yuan, up 39.61% to 41.59% year-on-year, with net profit of 1.26 billion to 1.31 billion yuan, up 80.58% to 87.74% year-on-year. The company said the performance change was mainly due to its smart set-top box SoC chip shipments remaining firmly first in the world and its smart TV SoC chips continuing to be adopted by mainstream global terminal brands, and it preliminarily estimates that full-year revenue this year is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan. In response to the sharp drop in the optical chip sector triggered by a Morgan Stanley report, Everbright Photonics said the report is a policy scenario analysis rather than formally implemented regulation, and that domestic 800G and 1.6T optical chips remain in extremely short supply in the short term. Yuanjie Technology said it had no comment on the report and that its operations are normal. The Shanghai Stock Exchange terminated the review of Sakesaisi's STAR Market listing application after the company and its sponsor Everbright Securities withdrew the application.

Microsoft Unveils Windows Revamp Built for Agentic AI

Microsoft unveiled a broad set of updates to Windows on Wednesday, rebuilding the operating system around AI agents and other AI tools that run directly inside the PC software. Speaking at San Francisco's Dogpatch Studios, chief executive Satya Nadella said Windows is becoming a "hybrid intelligence" system, combining cloud-based AI with AI that runs locally through products like the coding tool GitHub, and he introduced the new Surface Laptop Ultra, a high-end device built for developers and creators. A central piece of the plan is a reimagined Copilot app integrated seamlessly into Windows, which according to Copilot head Jacob Andreou can run tasks without touching the cloud when they don't need heavy compute, making them cheaper and faster. The Surface Laptop Ultra uses Nvidia's RTX Spark "superchip," which Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang, who joined Nadella onstage, called "a beast" of a product; the Ultra will cost $2,599 and the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box that works alongside it will cost $5,999, with the laptop available beginning Oct. 16 and the Dev Box in November. The redesigned Copilot app will serve as a central interface for chatting with AI bots, tapping AI tools, writing code, and accessing a new Autopilot feature that lets users name an agent, assign it a role and goal, and set it loose on tasks such as project updates and tracking deadlines, though some features Microsoft showed off are not yet available. In July, Microsoft said its Microsoft 365 Copilot had surpassed 30 million paid seats, with net seats added doubling quarter over quarter, and its next quarterly earnings report is expected later this month.

Microsoft Unveils $2,599 Surface Laptop Ultra for Running AI Models at Home

Microsoft on Wednesday unveiled its Nvidia-powered Surface Laptop Ultra, a laptop designed to let users run AI models at home without relying on the cloud. Starting at $2,599, the Surface Laptop Ultra runs on Nvidia's Arm-based RTX Spark, which offers upwards of 128GB of onboard memory. Microsoft and Nvidia, along with rivals Apple, Intel, and AMD, are increasingly pushing the concept of running AI software in the home, where users install an app, download an open-weights model, and work without usage limits while keeping their data private. But local AI is not for everyone: it demands heavy system resources, and a Google AI subscription, for example, gives access to Gemini 3.1 Pro and Deep Research in Gemini plus 400GB of cloud storage for $4.99 per month. The Surface Laptop Ultra can likely handle local AI workloads with ease, but its price tag is a bit high for all but the biggest AI boosters and enthusiasts.

Jefferies Initiates Ambiq Micro at Buy With $90 Price Target

Jefferies started coverage on Ambiq Micro with a Buy rating and a $90 price target, sending the semiconductor firm into the spotlight on Wednesday. Analyst Kevin Garrigan wrote that Ambiq's SPOT architecture runs standard CMOS at a 2-5x power advantage on edge devices, where available power limits AI, and said the company is moving from a niche ultra-low-power MCU supplier toward an edge AI compute platform. Garrigan noted that Ambiq's top three customers, believed to be Google, Garmin and WHOOP, made up 77.5% of sales in the second quarter, but revenue outside those top three grew 143% year-over-year while overall revenue rose 90% year-over-year. He forecast revenue rising from $72.5M in FY25 to $249M in FY28, a 51% CAGR, with non-GAAP gross margin expanding from 45.0% to 48.7%, operating margin improving from -33.2% to 0.7%, and non-GAAP EPS moving from -$2.62 to +$0.53. Ambiq holds about $367M of cash and no debt, which Garrigan said funds the roadmap through breakeven.

Apple Posts Record June Quarter With $109.4 Billion Revenue, 16 Percent Growth

Apple reported fiscal third-quarter 2026 revenue of $109.4 billion, up 16 percent, with iPhone, Mac and Services each growing by double digits and setting June-quarter records. Total revenue, earnings per share and operating cash flow all hit June-quarter records, and the board declared a quarterly dividend of $0.27. Diluted EPS of $2.02 rose 29 percent, though Apple said about 2 percentage points of its 50.1 percent gross margin and $0.11 of that EPS came from tariff refunds, a one-time benefit rather than a new baseline. The company also introduced a new Siri AI and child safety features at its developer conference, and said its installed base of active devices reached an all-time high across all major product categories and geographic segments. The stock trades at 37.69 times forward earnings, above the sector's 23.77 and Apple's own 5-year average of 29.53, while analysts expect EPS growth of 8.51 percent in 2027.

Musk Backs Tesla Engineer's Warning That Compute Shortage Is Only the Tip of the Iceberg

Elon Musk agreed with a Tesla AI engineer's argument that the automaker's early decision to develop and deploy custom inference computers across its vehicle fleet could look unprecedented as demand for artificial-intelligence compute accelerates. "Yes," Musk wrote on X on Sunday in response to Tesla engineer Yun-Ta Tsai, who said Tesla's years of iterating and scaling its own inference computers for each car sold could prove unusually important before the superintelligence era, adding that the current compute shortage is only the tip of the iceberg and that when autonomy becomes indispensable, the real shortage will follow. Tesla has spent years designing its own inference hardware to run neural networks inside vehicles rather than relying entirely on general-purpose processors, and that strategy is now advancing through AI5 and AI6, with the company saying in January that development of both custom inference chips had progressed and production was then planned for 2027 and 2028, respectively. Musk has separately said AI5 will punch far above its weight and is primarily optimized for edge computing in Robotaxi and Optimus, and during the second-quarter earnings call he said the company's planned Terafab is necessary because Tesla otherwise simply won't have enough AI chips to scale Optimus. Reuters reported in April that Tesla, SpaceX and xAI are pursuing Terafab partly because Musk expects outside suppliers cannot satisfy their long-term chip requirements, with Tesla's Austin development fab alone expected to cost roughly $3 billion.

Apple Rolls Out Redesigned Siri AI Beta as Q3 FY26 Revenue Hits $109.4 Billion

Apple has begun rolling out its redesigned Siri AI Beta, a centerpiece of the company's AI strategy under new CEO John Ternus, as it seeks to restore credibility in artificial intelligence after past delays to the Siri overhaul. The company reported $109.4 billion in revenue for its third quarter of fiscal 2026, up 16.4% from Q3 FY25, with diluted earnings per share rising roughly 29% to $2.02 and operating cash flows of $34.4 billion. Apple is also moving into enterprise servers powered by its planned M8 Ultra processors, which have not yet been released and carry a 2029 launch target with designs featuring either two or four M8 Ultra chips. The Siri AI Beta's initial geographic availability remains limited by regulatory hurdles in China and the European Union, where the beta is not accessible to users, and Apple continues to face App Store and digital markets legislation challenges that could reshape its services business. The stock has gained 29.51% over the past 52 weeks versus the S&P 500's 13.93%, giving Apple a $4.92 trillion market capitalization, while hedge fund ownership slipped marginally to 169 funds in the latest quarter from 170, with short interest below 1% and BlackRock the largest institutional stakeholder at 1.16 billion shares, or 7.97% ownership.

ON Semiconductor Switches Synaptics Deal to $123-Per-Share All-Cash Offer

ON Semiconductor said it will acquire Synaptics in an all-cash transaction at $123 per share, replacing its original offer of 1.350 ON Semiconductor shares for each Synaptics share held. The revised deal values Synaptics at $5.7 billion, down from the original $7 billion, and represents a nearly 16 percent premium over Synaptics' closing price on Thursday. Synaptics shares surged 14.08 percent on Friday to close at $121.10, extending their winning streak to a fourth straight session and bringing the week's gain to 17.9 percent. Synaptics President and CEO Rahul Patel said the all-cash structure provides value certainty at a meaningful premium, and ON Semiconductor will finance the transaction with cash on hand and committed financing from Morgan Stanley. The deal is expected to close in the middle of next year, subject to approval by Synaptics shareholders, with Synaptics' board joining ON Semiconductor's board. The acquisition followed Synaptics' fourth-quarter results, in which net losses widened by 9,419 percent to $447.4 million from $4.7 million a year earlier, dragged by a $425.3 million non-cash charge tied to a valuation allowance against US deferred tax assets, while revenue rose 8.9 percent to $308 million.

Apple Plans Siri-Powered Smart Home Hub, New HomePod Mini and Apple TV

Apple plans a Siri AI-powered smart home hub, a new HomePod mini, and an updated Apple TV to expand its home ecosystem. The new Siri-centric hub is designed as a central controller for connected devices, positioning Apple more directly against Amazon and Google in smart homes. Apple is set to integrate the hub, HomePod mini, and Apple TV more tightly with iPhone and iPad services to reinforce its ecosystem around the living room and broader home. The move extends an existing hardware and software footprint already present in many households, and pushes Apple deeper into a market where Amazon and Google built an early lead with Alexa and Assistant devices. Each new AI-powered surface also increases exposure to the regulatory and legal risks already highlighted by the recent Siri settlement, especially if promised features do not match user experience.

Musk Says Tesla Halved Optimus Chip Memory to Scale Production

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said Thursday that the company cut memory specifications on its next-generation Optimus robot chips to scale production, after Micron said humanoid robots could require hundreds of gigabytes of memory each. In a post on X, Musk said Tesla cut the AI5 chip's memory in half to 72GB and the AI6 chip's memory by a third to 144GB, calling it the only way to get enough volume for Optimus production and saying it greatly reduces cost. He added the cuts should have a negligible effect on Optimus performance because memory bandwidth is a bigger limiting factor than total memory capacity. On Micron's fiscal fourth-quarter earnings call Wednesday, CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said humanoid robots are expected to need more than 200 gigabytes of memory and multiple terabytes of storage per unit, similar to autonomous vehicles, and that physical AI could become a significant driver of memory and storage demand by the end of the decade. Tesla has reportedly placed its first large-scale component order for roughly 5,000 Optimus units and aims to eventually build 1 million units a year.

Huawei unveils Mate 90, debuts Kirin 9050 Pro chip with LogicFolding 3D architecture

Huawei Technologies officially announced the launch of its Mate 90 Series flagship smartphones, leaning on its self-developed operating system and a redesigned chip architecture amid US controls on advanced semiconductor exports. Richard Yu, chairman of Huawei's consumer business group, said the company still faces constraints on the supply of advanced processors, as advanced semiconductor capacity within China remains very limited, and its Ascend series of AI chips must also draw on output from the same group of fabs. The top-end Mate 90 Pro Max is powered by the Kirin 9050 Pro chipset, a centralized chip produced using an innovation Huawei calls LogicFolding, which restructures the logic circuit interconnects inside the chip so they stack vertically in three dimensions instead of the traditional two-dimensional horizontal layout, even though it requires a larger amount of silicon wafer per chip. The phones also run on Huawei's fully self-developed HarmonyOS 7, which breaks away from reliance on Google's Android framework and now supports more than 450,000 applications and services. On pricing, the Mate 90 Pro Max with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage is priced at 9,999 yuan, or about 1,491 US dollars, an increase of 2,000 yuan compared with the same-spec version of the previous generation at launch. The standard Mate 90 and the Mate 90 Pro start at 5,999 yuan and 6,999 yuan respectively. Huawei said the top model's overall performance is up 31% compared with its previous flagship. Yu said rising memory chip prices have added as much as 200 US dollars to the average cost of each device, significantly squeezing Huawei's margins and forcing the company to raise prices as well, though it is still trying to do so gradually.

Qualcomm Renews Apple Patent License Effective April 2027

Qualcomm announced in September 2026 that it had renewed its global patent license agreement with Apple, effective April 1, 2027, a move that significantly reduces near-term uncertainty around its QTL royalties. The renewal comes alongside a multi-year custom chip partnership with Amazon's AWS, which Qualcomm is counting on to underpin its data center goals of US$5.0 billion in fiscal 2027 and US$15.0 billion in fiscal 2029. Qualcomm also presented at the Humanoids Summit in Seoul and is expanding into data center and robotics solutions as it pushes to pair stable licensing income with new AI and cloud computing revenue streams. The company's narrative projects $60.0 billion in revenue and $11.5 billion in earnings by 2029, requiring 10.8% yearly revenue growth and about a $2.2 billion earnings increase from $9.3 billion today. The biggest current risk, according to the analysis, is that diversification spending rises faster than new AI and cloud revenues materialize, while rising in-house chips at major OEMs could still pressure Qualcomm.

AMD to Acquire World Labs in $8.2 Billion All-Stock Deal

Advanced Micro Devices has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire World Labs, an artificial intelligence model and research company led by AI pioneer Dr. Fei-Fei Li, in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $8.2 billion that is expected to close by the end of 2026. World Labs specializes in spatial-intelligence models that generate, reconstruct and simulate interactive 3D environments from text, images and video, and is also developing technologies for robotic learning and simulation. AMD said the deal will give it deeper visibility into how emerging AI workloads are evolving across reasoning, robotics, simulation and physical AI, helping it tailor future hardware, software and system architectures, and strengthening its position in physical AI and robotics alongside its Ryzen AI Embedded X100 processors and Kria AI Robotics Developer Platform. The acquisition fits AMD's shift from selling individual chips toward becoming a full-system AI infrastructure provider, complementing its Instinct, EPYC, Pensando and ROCm ecosystem and its recently launched Helios rack-scale AI platform, which AMD says offers up to 15% higher inference throughput at the same rack power and up to 30% more tokens per dollar than competing solutions. The deal comes as AMD's Data Center revenues surged 107% year over year to $6.7 billion in the second quarter of 2026, with management expecting Data Center segment revenues to more than double year over year in 2027 and estimating the data-center AI accelerator market will reach roughly $1.4 trillion by 2030.
